i bought a tv ariel extension kit from arogs but it dont work,why have i set it up wrong?

i connected the 2 way splitter to the vcr which is where the out door ariel is conected downstairs then in the splitter i conected the outdoor ariel one side and the extension the other side,why cant i get a picture upstais on the tv in my room,what have i done wrong,please help its driving me potty

the picture on our main tv is perfect its just i cant get the extension to work andi dont wanna cut more cable cos it will end up short

In the splitter, there is one input, and two outputs. Make sure you know which is the input correctly.
Now, connect the Aeriel to the Input.
Connect one output to the VCR and the other output to the Extension.
Now try.
I think you are mixing the input and the outputs.
